I Remember Thinking...

I remember thinking like this over the past few years and now it has come. My teenager is moving out. Somehow I don't feel good about this.

Just when I thought things were getting better. She slaps this in my face by saying she is moving in with her boyfriend of 2 years and his mother.

I really have no say in the matter as she is hard headed and she has been staying there for most of the last 6 months anyway.

My main concern is she keeps going to school. We have told her that once she decides to move out, that she moves right out. Meaning no coming home and packing the knapsack full of food etc. In away I think they may be a learning experience. I mean her boyfriends mother is going to make her get a job and pay her way. I hope.

Just hope we have raised her well enough that she is smart enough not to get pregnant. That's all we need.

I knew raising a teen was hard but not this hard.

I understand were your coming from its very hard to see one of your children leave home, we always say its final when they leave but their our kids, and we do let them come home no matter what.

I used to tell my teens I wished I could put them on fast-forward. Those years are so difficult. They told me they wished they could put me inside the TV and turn me off! When they are little they step on your toes. When they are big they step on your heart. It does get better, truly....

I've always thought that the most rewarding and also challenging job in the world is being a parent. I don't know this for sure, not having children, but it's that fine line of guiding your children and also letting them make their own choices.

I think your so wise allowing her to move out, because this will be such a wonderful learning experience for her.

Ron,
Right Now it is the most challanging job. If she sticks to her schooling and graduates this year then it will be rewarding. Even better when she snaps out of this crap she is pulling it will be even more rewarding.
